The people behind the Center's research.
Marvin Hansen directs the Center for Dynamic Causality and leads its research on causal structure that changes while a system runs. He founded and leads DeepCausality, the Center’s open-source framework for computational causality. The Linux Foundation for Data & AI has hosted it since 2023, and ServiceRadar, an open-source network monitoring platform, uses it as a component.
His work spans the theory and its engineering. He formulated the Effect Propagation Process, the axiomatic foundation of DeepCausality, and extended it into three research directions: counterfactual fluid dynamics for coupled flow, navigation, and guidance; quantum causal models for device characterization and code verification; and dynamic knowledge representation. An earlier program in dynamic chronometry recovered Earth’s gravitational parameter from Galileo satellite clock data.
Before founding the Center, he headed quantitative research at an investment technology firm from 2020 to 2021 and designed an autonomous trading engine.
